We’ll practice various styles of yoga that cater to all levels with an emphasis on Bhakti Yoga, which integrates devotion and mindfulness into the physical practice.

  • Chanting and Mantra

We’ll learn and chant mantras (optional), creating a community atmosphere filled with joy and spiritual connection.

Interactive sessions that allow us to deepen our understanding of devotion and spiritual teachings.

  • Food

Three daily meals made from local, healthy ingredients are included in the cost of the retreat. When you’re eating at Jakes, you can expect that the ingredients used to make all of the local dishes come from nearby farmers and fisherman – they’re all about Grown Locally!

Nature Excursions

Opportunities to connect with the stunning natural environment through guided outings including:

Lover’s Leap

Known for the most sweeping views in Jamaica (1700 feet from sea level!) this historic property has been reborn as a local hotspot—Jamaica-style! The music is the best of true Jamaican retro, the food is juicy, the scene is spicy and there’s no more memorable place to have dinner!

Black River Tour

It’s a thrilling 15-mile boat journey down the coast from Jakes to the Black River, providing plenty of opportunity to see dolphins and acclimate yourself to the landscape. The trip takes approximately 40 minutes each way. The boat captains are highly skilled and can ride the sea’s currents with tremendous style and grace.

Pelican Bar

One mile off the coast, in the turquoise sea of Parottee Bay, you’ll find the Pelican Bar. Literally a hut, made from scrap wood and built on a sandbar, Pelican Bar serves drinks and seafood to fishermen and other folk who arrive by boat. Built by a fisherman named Floyd in 2001, Pelican Bar was at first just meant for Floyd’s fishing buddies—but it quickly became known as one of the best beach bars in the world. Join the locals playing dominos, and take a dip in between drinks!

Beach Cookout with Captain Joseph Brown

Founder of One Love Boat Tours and a native of Treasure Beach, Captain Joseph has been navigating its waters for 25 years. He is a friend of the sea, and having survived adrift for two weeks at age 15, understands first-hand that safety is key to every successful excursion. Ever dream about spending time on a secluded stretch of beach in Jamaica? This is it. Only here, over half a day, Captain Joseph and his team will cook a sumptuous lunch of fresh kingfish, lobster, vegetables and other delicacies over an open fire. A thatch-covered canopy, and plenty of cold drinks, provide a welcome respite from the Caribbean sun and heat. No extra charge for dolphin sightings!
